The Royal Kruger Lodge

Royal Kruger Lodge 4 star accommodation situated in Mpumalanga just beyond the Crocodile River and forms a natural border with the Kruger National Park.

A private 4 Star Game Lodge, renowned for its exceptional personal service and intimate atmosphere. Experience in a civilised way, one of the wildest places on earth…… luxury in the heart of the African bush.

Southern Africa captivates everyone who is lucky enough to experience its power and magic. Situated in Mpumalanga Province in the ‘Wild Frontier’ region, Royal Kruger Lodge is just beyond the Crocodile River and forms a natural border with the Kruger National Park. It is conveniently located 50 minutes from Mpumalanga International Airport and a 5 hour drive from Johannesburg.

Wildlife thrives in this part of South Africa and boasts around 60 species of mammals, around 500 species of birds and numerous species of reptiles.

There is nothing quite as stirring as encountering the Big 5 in their natural habitat, the Kruger National Park. Enjoy the adventure of day and night Safaris in an open safari vehicle, led by highly skilled rangers, into the heart of the wild African Bushveld.

Royal Kruger Lodge is home to animals including giraffe, buck, buffalo and zebra, which roam freely around the lodge and surrounding area. Guests are often thrilled with unbelievably close and personal encounters, on the patio, at the water hole, the pool and during their bush orientation walks. They are afforded these rare opportunities due to the intimate boutique lodge size and low sound levels. Lions reside a short distance from the lodge, inside the Lionspruit Reserve and can often be heard during our starlit Boma Dinners.

Guests are greeted by majestic African sunrises and sunsets, adding to the peace and tranquillity of the area, allowing one to relax and unwind when not participating in the adventure and excitement of our game drives and other activities. Guests are given the opportunity to toast the flaming sunset in the wild with sundowners at the famous Crocodile River, often rich in wildlife.

Besides the standard Game Safaris, Royal Kruger Lodge also prides itself in its exciting offerings including Romantic, Honeymoon, Adventurous, Animal Loving and Cultural packages, created to give you an experience of a lifetime.

Personal attention and excellent service, by our friendly staff, is generously granted at Royal Kruger Lodge. Memories of game viewing at dawn and perhaps evening, sitting at the blazing fire in the Boma, relishing in old African tales and those of your close encounters with the wild, during an action packed day. You will be touched with the mystical empathy of man and beast, living together in harmony, and with mutual respect of creatures born to be free.

Spoil yourself with an unforgettable, soul awakening experience, at Royal Kruger Lodge.

STARLIT BOMA DINING EXPERIENCE

The traditional African starlit Boma is nestled within the surrounding bush, merely footsteps away from the lodge.

Breathing flames, the Boma reflects memories of the ancient world of African folk and their way of life. Boma, meaning Kraal in Swahili, forms an enclosure, usually made from latte sticks, for camps and fortified villages during the 18th and 19th century, when tribal wars and colonial conquests were common. Savour a four course dinner, beside an ancient Marula tree, prepared on an open fire and enjoyed beneath starlit skies. This African sky theme is a sensory experience, during an enchanting dinner, as guests enter an old ancient African world.

The Boma, surrounded by ancient bush, is the ideal setting for relaxing and toasting to a sumptuous experience. Every detail is carefully planned to create an authentic African ambience, from the atmospheric torch candles, to elephant skulls mysteriously lit beneath them. Thrilling lion roars echoing from the Lionspruit Reserve very nearby, are often heard during Boma Dinners. Buck, warthog and zebra frequently cross the torch lit path leading to the Boma.

Safari Cuisine at Royal Kruger Lodge is more than just a meal, it is an experience of sheer indulgence, and an African cultural experience. Our head chef delights in personally announcing the evening menu, which is always hearty, scrumptious and deliciously different. Special dietary requirements may be catered for on request. The freshest ingredients and unique flavours, blended in a traditional South African way, make memories to cherish forever.
