Overview

After setting sail from Southampton you make calls into Barcelona and Athens en route to Egypt. Discover the ancient wonders of Cairo. Cruise through the Suez Canal. Visit Petra, the ‘Rose Red City’ that’s half as old as time, and Luxor and the Valley of the Kings. And no visit to this part of the world would be complete without a stop in Dubai - the ‘Pearl of the Arabian Gulf’.

Mumbai and Cochin show you two very different sides to India and Colombo introduces you to the delights of Sri Lanka. From here you head to the Far East. Patong Beach in Phuket offers the best range of shops, market stalls and places to eat, whilst Singapore combines great shopping with glorious botanical gardens. Next, onto Sihanoukville for tours to Phnom Penh with its elaborate Silver Palace and Pagoda. In Bangkok, you can get a real taste of Old Asia as you tour the fabulously ornate buildings of the Grand Palace, home to Buddha statues exquisitely worked in ivory, crystal, silver and gold. Sailing along the coast of Vietnam, you stop to visit Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi - two of its most famous cities.

Hong Kong welcomes you next - one of the most crowded and vibrant places in the world, where you can buy almost anything on its teeming streets. Next it’s Shanghai, Pearl of the Orient, and China’s largest and most cosmopolitan city, before Xingang, your gateway to Beijing and the Great Wall of China. Next you arrive in cosmopolitan and enchanting Nagasaki, a city filled with poignant reminders of the devastating 1945 atomic bomb. Osaka is known for its dynamic spirit and legendary nightlife, and its hi-tech stores and conveyor-belt sushi bars, but just a short distance away, you’ll find Japan’s gentler side in the geometric gardens and serene temples of Kyoto.

En route to Australia, Arcadia calls at Papua New Guinea and the intriguing town of Rabaul, which is housed inside a large collapsed, volcanic crater. Reaching the land down under, your first taste of Aussie life comes in the form of Cairns, gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. And Brisbane, just north of the Gold Coast follows.

Sailing into Sydney is one of the greatest cruising experiences. With a full day and evening here you have plenty of time to explore before Arcadia heads for Melbourne, which combines a distinctly European feel with the home country’s celebration of the outdoor life. Your Australian tour continues with a visit to easy-going Adelaide in the south - a gourmet’s delight with a huge range of restaurants and cafés. Your final Australian port, and your final destination, is Perth, from where you’ll fly home.
