Soak up the heritage of the vibrant Asakusa district, home to craft shops, traditional inns and Tokyo’s oldest temple; climb the Tokyo Skytree, the world’s tallest tower, for awe-inspiring views; or indulge in some geothermal goodness at one of the city’s many hot springs (onsen).
During your stay, you’ll enjoy a day-long escorted tour to Mount Fuji, Japan’s iconic and highest mountain. Following a scenic countryside drive you will arrive at Mount Fuji 5th Station for a Japanese lunch before travelling onward to Hakone for a cruise on Lake Ashi. Enjoy a thrilling cable car ride, which offers sweeping, panoramic views of Mount Fuji, Suruga Bay and tea fields, and delivers an incredible four seasons in one day experience before travelling back to Tokyo by bullet train.
From Tokyo, you’ll embark on the Diamond Princess and set sail for an eight day exploration of Japan and South Korea. Japan highlights include Hakodate, known for its historic waterfront and renowned for producing the finest sushi; the vibrant city of Akita, which boasts numerous museums, including a living museum that preserves the Samurai way of life; Ishinomaki, home to a hilltop castle, Manga Museum and stunning coastline; and sunny Kagoshima, voted Japan’s friendliest city. You’ll also stop at Busan, South Korea’s second city, that’s brimming with cobalt oceans and verdant mountains.
